Where do you practice?

Upper Extremity ATX is located at Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital, Suite 207, 6818 Austin Center Blvd, Austin TX 78731. Ample parking is available on site. Telehealth visits are available for appropriate follow-up and out-of-area consultations.

Do you see throwing athletes?

Yes. Elbow and shoulder pathology in overhead and throwing athletes — including UCL tears, SLAP tears, shoulder instability, and biceps pathology — is a core part of the practice. Treatment plans account for the specific mechanical demands of your sport and your timeline back to competition.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Aetna, United Healthcare, Tricare, WellMed, and most major commercial plans. See the Insurance section below for more detail, or verify your coverage directly through the patient portal.

What surgical procedures do you perform?

The full range of shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, and peripheral nerve surgery — from common outpatient procedures to complex fracture reconstruction, joint replacement, and nerve surgery. A complete list is available on the Procedures page.

Do you offer biologic or regenerative medicine?

Yes, through our affiliated practice Regen ATX, which operates alongside Upper Extremity ATX at the same location. PRP, BMAC, exosome therapy, and performance health services are available as standalone cash-pay offerings or as adjuncts to surgical care. Learn more at RegenATX.com.

Do you see pediatric patients?

We see patients 16 and older for most conditions. Younger patients with acute fractures or specific upper extremity injuries may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis — contact us to discuss.

Do you see repetitive stress and workplace injuries?

Yes. Repetitive stress injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder are among the most common conditions we treat. Worker's compensation cases are accepted on a per-network basis — contact us to confirm your carrier before scheduling.

What body parts do you treat?

Shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and fingers — the full upper extremity — as well as peripheral nerve conditions affecting the arm. For problems outside this region, we're happy to discuss your situation and refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Where can I find new patient and other forms?

All new patient forms are available through the patient portal. You can schedule your appointment directly through the portal as well — you'll receive an invitation link when your account is created, or you can register through the link below. Completing forms in advance helps us make the most of your visit.

Clear, Transparent Pricing

You’re not the only one frustrated with health insurance companies. Most of what happens in a surgical practice runs through insurance — and we've structured our participation to cover the plans most patients in the Austin area carry. For services outside that framework, including regenerative medicine, performance health, and concierge arrangements, cash-pay pricing is straightforward and listed in full. No hidden fees, no surprise billing, no rate you won't recognize when the visit is over.

For patients who carry insurance and are also pursuing surgical care: we provide a detailed superbill at every visit, which you can submit to your carrier for potential reimbursement. We make no guarantees about what your plan will cover, but we'll give you everything you need to make the case.

Insurance FAQs

What if I started with a cash-pay visit and then needed surgery?

If your initial visit is cash pay and surgery is subsequently recommended, your surgical care will be billed through your insurance in the normal course — the two are independent. Your cash-pay visit is not applied as a credit toward surgical care, but it does ensure that by the time surgery is scheduled, we already have a thorough understanding of your situation. Many patients find this a faster and more direct path to a surgical decision than waiting through an insurance-driven new patient queue.

How do I verify my insurance before my visit?

Insurance verification can be completed directly through the patient portal. You'll need your insurance card and member ID. If you run into any issues, contact us and we'll assist.

Appointments can be scheduled directly through the patient portal. For insurance questions, worker's compensation inquiries, legal and consulting requests, or anything that doesn't fit the standard scheduling flow — reach out directly and we will get back to you.
